Baby 61- A Girl Worth Fighting For. No wait... that's Mulan

I return home after a date with Paisley late one night. The kids are all asleep, slumbering in beds and encased in a world of pure imagination. Just one look, and I'd see into their imagination, no wait.... That's Willy Wonka.

The house is silent, and all through the house, not one thing is stirring. Not even a mouse.

No wait. That's The Night Before Christmas. Lets start this again shall we?

I return home late one night and everything is silent and dark. Loki and his siblings are asleep. Or at least far away in the outbuilding over the garden. There is no noise, in fact the house is eerily quiet.  Not even pipes are creaking like they usually do. There is a darkness about the room that I have never felt before. It is almost like the pace is haunted. But that is unlikely. Since I built the place from scratch.
I swing a kick around behind me and connect with... nothing. Just my mind playing tricks on me. I go to sleep that night and wake up at my usual time of 6:15. It might seem early, but normally I have children to raise and teenagers to rouse in time for school. Takes longer than you would think. So I wake up on this average Wednesday and do average things.
I wake up my extra-ordinary son, and my non-magical but still wonderful son. And prepare them for school. I prepare an average breakfast of average quality waffles. Loki eats his in two mouthfuls before dashing out of the door for his bus like an average teenager. And Odin sits at the table and munches his way through with a knife and fork like an average child.
We grab his bag and I see him out of the door as he grabs his bike and cycles off to his average school like any other average child. I return to my house and walk up my stairs into the nursery.
I take Frigga from her crib and like an average baby does, she had dirtied her diaper over the night. So I change her before setting her down to care for Hela, who has also been average and pooped. I carry them both downstairs and prepare to celebrate their birthdays.
Hela grows up to have blonde hair and blue eyes. She's the shier one of the two and much more reluctant to talk to people. I'm not too sure where her looks are from, but she's adorable and so I don't mind.  And Frigga has darker brown hair and my eyes. She's certainly the more outgoing twin, but Hela seems to be the brains of the operation when it comes to toddler mischief with these two.
I take them both up to the nursery to play and teach them their skills. First I teach Frigga to walk,
talk
and potty.
And then I teach Hela the same.
After that, my average day continues. I impregnate myself with an average guy's baby. Brown hair, brown eyes, tan skin. Not overly pretty but not ugly either. Average. And I begin a standard pregnancy. First comes the nausea. I am puking by the time Loki and Odin return from school, so we call in for pizza. Just an average cheese and tomato.
Then, not long before I fall asleep I get the first kicks of my newest baby.
The next day the cycle repeats again. Only this time, instead of teaching my daughters skills, we go to the park instead. Like an average family. Nobody bothers us and I play with both of my girls. After that we have a picnic. It's good, like I'm not half way through a challenge and I haven't had 60 kids before the one I'm carrying now. I return home in the middle of the day and put the girls don for their nap. I can hear someone moving around in the next room, but I assume it is just Fuzz-Nugget and Opal (or was it Isis? I keep forgetting) or just one of those freak accidents. Regardless, I check the next room to go see what happened.
I walk in and sat on the floor is Loki, trying to hide under a bed. "What are you doing here?" I asked him, as any normal person would. "Hiding from you to avoid school." he replies. He's being honest, this is odd. Out of nowhere I am wracked by terrible pains across my stomach. "Thundercat are- no. Wait, that's Juno. Never mind. I'mma go give birth now. We shall continue this later. Don't go anywhere."
I leave the room and shortly after give birth to my next child, Fenrir Everard!

Baby 59+60- Unexpected

The phone hit the floor with a dull thunk, drowned out by the carpet. I could just about hear Paisley's voice asking me if I was still there. I was, but apparently she wasn't. My closest friend, my shoulder to cry on was moving across the country to Sunlit Tides to follow a guy she hadn't even been on a date with yet.
Can I just say, it was also the guy she dumped my son for. So lets just assume I am not best fond of this guy.
As soon as I heard that Paisley was moving all the way to Sunlit Tides I knew I had to do something. The note Eloise left in her pillow after our last night together had finalised that. I'd always felt something for Paisley, it just thirteen years and one kiss for me to see it for what it really was.
Taking my kids with me, I hopped on my plane, (long story for another time ) and went to Hawaii. It didn't take long for me to find the right hut, and when I did, I started having second thoughts. But I pushed the button and rang her bell.
SkyeleyShe answered the door. Surprise flickered across her face. "Skye, what are you. How did you get here?" She asks. "Not important,"I say. "Paisley. I couldn't let you leave. Thirteen years of friendship were at stake here. There's something. I discovered not too long ago, and I think you know what it is." I slip an arm around her. "I love you Paisley Parker."
Paisley returns the arm, slipping it around me like I had to her. Hesitantly, I press a kiss to her lips. She tasted of the same stuff she had when I kissed her for the cab driver before England. Almost imperceptibly, she slipped her tongue between my parted lips. Damn she had a talented tongue.
Don't tell her I said that. She would get incredibly vain about it. And preening Paisley is annoying Paisley. The fact that this was the third time I have kissed my bestest friend ever has not eluded me. In fact, I was wondering why it was the third time. Who kisses their best friend?! Well... don't answer that.
I had so many thoughts flickering around my head that it was a while before I noticed she was kissing me back. I could hear somebody (I assume Chloe, it's her kind of thing) wolf whistling behind us, and it was not great surprise. Not every day something like this happens to a girl.
Screenshot-6
Paisley and I spent a lot of time together after that. We got to know one another all over again -no, not like that- and we became much closer. Of course at times we had to leave each other, to pee and when I was impregnating myself. I used one of the locals, the same guy who has propositioned Paisley. He was very eager. I think he had been on his own for a while.
It was not the most effortless of pregnancies. Odin had developed a cold and so he was whiny. Because of that I got almost no rest and my back always ached. And to top it all off, my sickness was almost constant. I could barely keep meals down. I was almost as skinny as I had been at the beginning of the challenge, and that was a real nightmare to buy clothes.
Of course, we had to stay in Sunlit Tides for the time being, you aren't supposed to fly when pregnant and there was not a chance in any of the nine realms that I was gonna endanger my youngling that way. So, cruel fate decided I had to stay in the warm, sunlit beaches with quite possibly the love of my life for the next little while.
I enrolled everyone in school, since education authorities scare me and they settled in well. Or rather, I thought they did until the day I was called in by the Head to talk about them.
Screenshot-22
"Ma'am. I am gonna put it to ya bluntly. Your little-uns' are a menace." he said in a southern accent. "Your daughter, Sith?"
"Sif." I mutter.
"Sif, that's it. She has been in 3 fights already. She gave a kid a broken nose earlier. Do you know what that looks like on my record? If it weren't for her incredibly high results in every test we've thrown at her this past week, why, she'd be outta here faster than you can say coconuts."
My jaw falls for the second time that week. Coconuts was not very long at all. And to do it FASTER than coconuts, that would be... I digress. My daughter having to leave school here would not bode well for my family one bit. This was the only school in town, and my experience of home schooling was not entirely wonderful.
"I'll have a talk with her. Nice hat. Ever thought about painting the room green?" I say. Or ask. Whichever works for you. The head ignores me and ushers me out of the room. He probably has more important things to do, like paint his hat and office green. Green is a GOOD colour.
I take my kids out of class since it's nearly the end of the day anyway, and I doubt they would learn anything vital in the five minute they miss. We arrive at our hut not too long afterwards, and I borrow Sif an Thor to play. Loki joins in, but half-heartedly, he knows that when I am in charge we normally end up playing Thor, or Avengers which results in HIM either falling vast distances or being beaten up (of course it is all pretend. I would never actually HARM the boy.)
Screenshot-23
During that time I manage to work in a few great quotes, and Loki gets to say that he is burdened with glorious purpose, and that he could have done it, for me. But he didn't have to eventually, Sif and I are left alone and I confront her about her fighting.
"Sif, I was called into your school by your head today. Apparently you were fighting?" she nods, head held down, and says, "They were insulting both of us. They said I wasn't good enough, so I proved myself as a warrior to them." I hug her close, reminiscent of the time before we arrived here and she was afraid of the storm." Well you don’t need to worry about that any more. I understand that you have a reputation, but I love you and I know you are at least as good as your brothers. That is all that matters to me, and it should be enough for you. If it isn’t; then I’m pretty sure your Aunt Paisley feels the same way.”
Sif nods and sniffles. She stands up an straightens out. “Mother, I have tasks I must complete and you are stopping me from doing so. And it is with the utmost joy and concern that I bid you farewell.” These days I have no idea if Sif is still playing or she actually talks like that. Since when I’m alone my speech habits morph into something… not dissimilar. she leaves the room to (I assume) finish her homework, or get Loki to and I sit and tuck into my book. And no, it is NOT the latest in the 50 Shades series. I actually HAVE some taste in my trash.
  Screenshot-24
There is something moving outside the window and I can see it in the corner of my eye, so I turn to stare at it fully. To my surprise, there is none other than Loki outside my window, glaring at me in his way and smirking. I slide open the French doors and walk (read waddle) out onto the balcony of my holiday/ temporary home. My youngest son drifts over to me and then lands gracefully, his feet silent on the floor.
“I never planned on flight. It was supposed to make the bath-tub vanish.” he says. My eyebrows raise. But somehow, I’m beyond caring. “Trust me, I’ve seen stranger. I’m glad your magic is coming along nicely. Don’t tire yourself out. It’s about 15 minutes until dinner.” my son nods before floating off over to the lower floors, where I assume he plan on terrorising his siblings. I’m probably exaggerating there, it’s more like pranks. Nothing more and nothing less.
A scream echoes up the pristine white floors and into my bedroom. A very female scream; closely followed by a high, manly cry from the other teenager in my house. “LOKI!” I yell, “Get back here.” I wander onto the balcony and lean over, looking for the miscreant son. He is nowhere to be seen. Turning to go inside, there is Loki, grinning like a maniac and in fits of giggles. I give him The Look. It is a very stern look and one I have mastered completely. Back when I was with Ellie, she nicknamed it my ‘OdinGlare’ because it looked like the one he did when he banished Thor.
“Ah, well… I finally managed to vanish the bath-tub,” he says, “but how was I to know it would only go for a second and come back dripping dye and turning her hair crimson. And then, how was I to plan for Thor to accidentally walk in on her after hearing her scream and see her without any clothes. Honestly mother, how could one young, sweet boy plan all that. It is simply too much coincidence.”
I have come to the resolution that I need to stop naming my kids after real people, only they are becoming too much like whoever they are named after. That boy, that adorable MISCHEVOUS boy with a tongue that could get him out of anything is now skipping off downstairs reminding me that dinner will be done soon. Screenshot-25
He is right of course, and I rush down as much as I can in my state to take the food out of the oven. I call Sif and Thor, who both come out of the room looking alternate shades of red. Thor, his cheeks and Sif who’s hair now matches her brother’s cheeks.  After a very awkward dinner, punctuated primarily by bursts of laughter (Loki), glares (Sif) and coughs (Thor) I make the executive decision to have a birthday party. So, I age up everyone. Except for Odin, who is currently at playgroup. He was asked to join when he made friends with the local kids, and I must say during my later months it took a load off my shoulders, and I’m eternally grateful for them teaching him all his skills. He should be being dropped off any minute now in time for his birthday.  Screenshot-26Sif, deciding she likes her hair now, ties it in a plait and wants to achieve perfect mind and body togetherness. Which I’m all for if it keeps her out of trouble for a while. Thor, well being Thor who is ever athletic, he joins the reserve army and also decides to become an athlete. He joins (or rather was scouted for) a team from my old home Twinbrook and books himself on a flight after his post-adulthood business is taken care of.

Loki ages into a dashing young man. He is one of my favourite children -but that's between us- and his taste for mischief and magic are still strong in him. I know he means nothing by them, but every so often I have to scold him for doing something. Just to put him in his place. He also has a new love of martial arts. He is incredibly graceful, and with his newfound flight abilities, I am nowadays treated to daily aerial re-enactments of various scenes from a fair few of my favourite films.   Screenshot-31Odin is a nice enough child but he is very quiet. He barely speaks to anyone, but then, Albert Einstein was very quiet too; so perhaps he’s on the way to discovering Dark Matter in his head. I’ll never know.  Screenshot-29
It is not long after the party that I go into labour and give birth to my children, HELA EVERARD and Frigga Everard. We know that soon enough we will be back home and we won’t come back until next summer, when we can well and truly experience it.

There’s just one thing I’ll miss about this place. And it has 2 legs, orange hair and one of the most beautiful smiles known to man. But the best part is, it’s just a phonecall away.

Baby 58- Amidst the creepy silence of the night, With deadly feelings in the heart

Apologies in advance for A: he shortness of these next posts, and B: The fact that some appearances have changed. Long story short, I got a new laptop.

Loki was a very well behaved kiddie. He did exactly as he was told to do, until I taught him to talk. After that he could worm his way out of anything with a smile and a few carefully chosen words. Even at such a young age.
Fortunately I was having Thor and Sif's birthday party today, so he would no longer be able to upset his siblings. Or at least I hope so. Either way, the situation could not possibly get any worse. Thor grew up to be just as happy as he was as a toddler. He loved swimming and listening to Storms, on the occasions that they happened. Sif was very rambunctious. She always made noise, and apparently wanted to prove to everyone that she was juust as good as the boys, so she was always getting into sports, or fights. Practically anything EXCEPT what normal girls do.
I had always loved how each child had their own personality which evolved as they grew up. It was a wonderful feeling to be able to sit down at the end of the day and say, I did that. And that was exactly what I did. Coseyed up by the fire; while my three children slumbered upstairs. I was almost too happy for words. Rain was pattering on the window and I could feel my eyes closing, closin- "Mother." says Sif. "I'm scared." I pull her close out of concern. "Whatever is the matter darling?". Sif bites her lip as if debating whether to tell mee. Obviously, she does since the next thing she says is, "We... we go to school in the morning but what if the other kids don't like me. What if they make me go away and never come back. Or they never talk to me and they don't let me do sports with them?"
She gets more and more frantic as the story continues, so I just keep holding her close and hope for the best. I move to sit on the floor, and she lays her head down on my lap. We sit watching the flames for a while, before there is a tap on the door. Eloise has arrived carrying Loki, who was apparently scared of the storm and couldn't sleep. I take him in my arms and rock him back and forth until I feel him relax enough and then his breathing slows. We have by now been joined by Thor, who also has pre school jitters, though us are much more focused on if he will be able to focus long enough to actually do any work. So... everyone has made it into my bedroom and is sleeping on or around, (or with, but that is inconsequential) me.
I gaze longingly at the bed, and Ellie twigs, picking up Thor and moving him to my bed and then Sif, who was on my legs and then I can finally move and it is much better. I grab Loki, and we join the group asleep. I am sure we make a real picture. Entire family all curled on one double bed. It is remarkable that we all fit. Ellie presses a kiss to my lips, before trailing them down my collarbone. I bite my lip and close my eyes. "Ellie. They will hear us and then I will be mad at you."
"What will you do? Burn my waffles?" She asks, with genuine concern. I shake my head. "Nope. I shall withold sex." Eloise gawks at me. I won this round.
The next morning is met with groans from more than one child. Apparently school is not going to be any fun. I have no idea how they know this, never having been but I rest assured that it will be boring and hard and all around terrible.
I manage to pack everyone into the car after breakfast in time for us to get there before the bell. I sit in the car and watch my newest children walk into school and I feel very sad. I am going through this challenge, but eventually it will all be over and then I will have none, and I will be alone. Since there is no way Ellie would stay with me when someone more interesting and exotic comes along. I start the car and arrive home sooner than I would have, had I been driving sensibly. But nothing came of it, and so there was no need to worry.
When I return home I begin scrolling through the challenge fathers, and select Lime Livana. He has some pretty cool features and also an unusual skin tone which I love. So I venture out to the hospital where they inseminate me with Phillip's future child. I get home in time to avoid puking in the taxi, but I barely make it too the loo. The sickness is almost as bad as it was the earlier pregnancies.
Eloise has managed to get Loki to nap today, and while the others are at school, Eloise and I have the place to ourselves. For once we spend the afternoon in one anothers arms, not needing to say anything, and some small part of me feels that Ellie is just a bit too desperate. I know this will be our last day together, for one reason or another.
The kids come home and I cook them dinner, before we celebrate Loki's birthday. He grows up to be a real charmer, and I cannot wait to see what he gets up to. He loves reading, and has managed to make his way through Anna Karennina and War and Peace. He is voracious and unstoppable in his quest for knowledge information. But nis other interests are less conventional. He has developed a love of chemistry, and more specifically solutions which affect the mind and body, but most interesting of all is his curiosity with magic. True magic, not the tricks by street performers you see every day.

I go to sleep that night in Eloise's arms. The next morning I awake and the bed is cold, neat and made up with military precision. There is a note on her pillow explaining that she had had to leave me because she, 'Just didn't feel it was working out.'
Skye, my dearest Skye.
Before you read this, know that I love you. More than anything. But you could see as well as I can, that we were not working out. I am too controlling, and your currwnt situation does not allow us to be like that. Although it was wonderful while it lasted, we must leave one another's company and I must return to my quest, making a living in America. So I am leaving you. Do not try to find me, it could not end well for you.
- your beloved, Eloise Honette.
My beloved. She could never be my beloved anything. Hot tears of anger prickle behind my eyes but I blink them away. There is no way this woman will make me cry. I opened my heart to her like a fool, and for that I am to suffer. But no more. Skye Everard will rise above it and call Paisley because she needs someone to cry on. Really badly.
Most of my day is spent with Paisley, and by the end of it I am showing a baby bump which she immediately attempts to feel. "Don't you have children of your own? You know, in your challenge?" I ask, tearfully. She nods, but does not let go. And I am content to let her do what she likes. Her hands are soft and warm, and the feeling of them touching me is quite nice. Not in that way, pervert.
Thor comes and asks me for help with his homework, and I agree to help him. Just because I have had a few emotional issues, it does not mean that I can let go of my kids. Or let them fail in school. He needs all the help he can get if he is going to pass that maths test he is taking. Sif is coping just fine in maths, and she has at least a B in all of her subjects. In fact she us even on honour roll and taking after school classes to improve. But she wants to grow up with her brother, and so she is going to wait for him to get at least one A in his classes.
Thor comes home the next day after his test waving a sheet of paper around. He got the A on his test, and so it is time for his birthday.  They age up right away. Sif is a strong, independent girl who likes exercise and sports. She also fights a lot with her brother nowadays. Thor, he is a nice enough boy but he does not thing before he acts, so more often that not when he tries to do something to help anyone it ends up backfiring and getting him into trouble.
Not long after the party I go into labour and give birth to a little boy called Odin, to keep with my Norse God theme. Thor, who sees me go into labour, panics and starts freaking out, so I send him away and go into my room. It doed not take long for me to give birth today. In fact, it feels more like this child is my wake up call. Eloise left me, sure. But this child is my new beginning. A new, better Skye will arrive.
The phone rings. I answer it. Paisley starts to talk. I listen for a while, until she gets to the end of the sentence. The phone falls to the floor with a thud.

Baby 57- How You Remind Me Of What I Really Am

Okay, as you know I have had charger issue, so I manged to get a few pictures for this post. Not all of them though. And Right now I'm adding the ones for David and Midnight's conversation.

I was surfing the web, looking up people I was considering to be challenge fathers when Electra messaged me.
Lecci- Hey Skye, how are you?
Skye- I'm good. You?
Lecci- Same. Listen, I know this is strange, but could you do me a massive favour? I need a father for my challenge, but your town is hopelessly devoid of beautiful men, unless I want to get it on with a baby Skye, which I don't, so, could you maybe find a place I can get fathers?
Skye- Yeah. Hold on a second while I link you to the website.
Lecci- Thanks. OH CRAP! I got to go. I was supposed to be doing something for Sarah's homework. TTYL Skye.
Electra Danton is offline
After Electra's sudden departure I decided to look for that link later. I was about to log off the computer and go see Thor and Sif when a friend request popped up on my Dashboard. It was from one, Derek Pleasant. We used to be friends in High School and had a couple of classes together. He liked me, but I guess the sentiment wasn't returned and we drifted apart when he went to College and I stayed at home to start my challenge and expand the Everard lineage.
I realised that I had been sitting staring blankly at the screen for almost a minute now, reminiscing about my past. I quickly click the accept button, and almost straight away a message comes through.
Derek- Hey! Long time no see, right?
Skye- Yeah. REALLY long time. What’s it been, 3 years?
Derek- 4.
Skye- Wow. So, what are you up to nowadays? You got a wife, kids?
Derek- Well I’m married to Lorna, you remember her, right? Geeky girl, green hair. But no kids.
Skye- Wow. No kids and here I am with 56.
Derek- 56!? HOW IN GOD’S NAME?
Skye- I’m doing the 100 Baby Challenge, twerp.
Derek- You’re doing the challenge? This is brilliant. Skye, sorry to be pushy, but the reason I have no kids, Lorna’s infertile. I’d love a little bundle of joy to call my own, even if I never get to see it. Can I be a father? Please, please?
Skye- Derek, we were friends for several years. I’d feel like a Bildschteim if I said no.
Derek- A what? In any case, we should meet up. There’s this coffee shop opened up, next to the library if you wanna go there?
Skye- Yeah. See you at 10, tomorrow morning.
I close the computer down and stand up; it’s time I was getting to bed, and getting the kids to bed. David’s over at his girlfriend’s tonight, so he’s coming back in the morning, so Jonathan has invited his best friend, James Hart, over. I walk upstairs and poke my head into the boys’ room, to find Jonathan and Jack locked in a passionate embrace, their lips locked together.  “I think I’ll come back later.” I say, as I close the door.
Leaving my son and his friend (if that’s still the right term to use knowing this now) to each other, I cross the small hallway to the nursery.

Inside, Ellie is looking after Thor, and Sif is already in bed. I consider reading them a story, but she’s close enough to gone that I see no point in doing it. Thor’s eyes are drooping even as Eloise changes his pyjama bottoms and puts him in the crib. I smile at her and we both walk out onto the terrace behind the nursery. It’s barely been used, and I know we should start putting it to good use.
“Hey. I’m meting up with an old school friend tomorrow morning and we’ll be having coffee. He’s gonna join the challenge. Want to come? I mean, it’s not like it’s a date, and you should have a say.”
She thinks for a second, before Okay-ing the suggestion and leaving for bed. “Coming?” she asks, with a flirty smile. “Gladly.” I reply.
I pull the car into the space by the side of the road and Eloise gets out of the passenger door. Eloise turns towards the grocery store, she’s going to get some food we need before meeting us, and I turn towards the shop opposite. As soon as I step inside the strong scent of coffee assaults my senses. I scan the room looking for my friend, and I don’t see him anywhere. Odd, he was always rather punctual. “Skye!” a voice calls out. I turn to its source. Over in the middle of the room, by the window stands a man who looks like Derek, but it can’t be Derek because this guy is… hot! Don’t get me wrong, he’s no Robert Downer Junior now, but he’s certainly better than his previous, nerdy self. “Hey.” I say, as I sit down on a chair opposite him. “You’ve changed.” I say. He winks at me,
“And you look just as beautiful as you did the day I met you.”  I frown. This guy is supposed to be married. I tell him this in no uncertain terms. “Ah, Lorna and I, we aren’t working out. She’s filing for divorce. I’m only over here because this is where my lawyer’s office is. I’ll be gone in a couple of days.”  So, we’ll need to be making this baby ASAP it seems. If he’s not going to be here much longer, and clearly he’s thinking the same as I am.
Suddenly, I’m jerked from my daydreams when Eloise comes in. “Hey love.” I say. Eloise presses a quick kiss to my lips, and I’m pretty sure I can hear a camera click off somewhere on the other side of the room. Eloise and I have been on the down-low recently, and the media loves PDA’s from the hottest (and rarest) couple on the challenge scene. Ellie drags a chair round to the table, and sits down, only for Derek to stand and leave. “I’ll be going now.” He says, practically running out of the door. I follow him, hot on his heels and stop him. “What the HELL was that about?” I yell, “My girlfriend arrives and all of a sudden you have to LEAVE?”
“Well yeah. I’d never have agreed to meet with you if I knew you were a c-“I know what’s coming and act before I have to. The slap echoes across the car park and I could have sworn a few people turn to look. Derek starts to unlock his car, then reconsiders and runs off in the direction of the nearest bar. Taking some initiative (and throwing back to my more rebellious teen days) I take out my keys and scrape them along the side of his car.
I return home with Eloise in the car, probably more annoyed than anything else and we arrive just as David’s girlfriend and Jonathan’s ‘friend’ James leave. “Hey Jonnie. Have fun last night?” I say, flashing him a wink. “More to the point, did JAMES enjoy himself? You’ve always got to look after the other person haven’t you?” Jonathan turns a shade of scarlet rivalled only by the red of his sweatshirt. “How the heck did you? In fact, I don’t even wanna know.” He says. David looks confused, turning to first his brother, then me for answers. “If he won’t tell you, neither will I.” I say.  “Driving lesson time David.”
David grins and cheers. He rushes out of the door and grabs the keys for my relatively new Audi TT and jumps down the step leading to the garage.

It's not long before David is driving like a pro (or at least a Semi-Professional) and I feel it would be okay to let him divide his attentions a bit. "So, Honey. How's it going with you and Kahlia?" I say. David thinks for a minute before telling me. "Actually, I wanted to talk to you about that. See, Kahlia's ageing up today, and we'll be becoming young adults, and I was wondering if maybe... wecouldageuptoosoIcanpropse."
The last sentence is said as a rush, but I manage to decipher it. "Aww. Honey. Of COURSE you can. What kind of a mother would I be if I stopped the pursuit of young love." We've almost finished teaching him anyway, so we turn around and head for home. Once there, I begin the ageing process for my two boys.

David, it seems, has grown out of his phase of looking like Tom Riddle, which is a good things, because the resemblance was creepy. Jonathan looks much the same as he did as a teenager, but taller and he seems to ave grown into his looks.

Almost immediately, David invites Kahlia over. The second she arrives he gets down on one knee and proposes. "Kahlia, I love you. Will you do me the honour of becoming my wife?" the girl looks down at him, turns around and flounces out. "No." she says. David is crushed, the girl leaves my house and wanders off down the street somewhere. Maybe she'll fall off a bridge and- no. I shouldn't wish that on anyone.

David waits until she's safely gone to start crying. I let him cry into my shoulder for a while before I lean back and say to him, "You know what you gotta do? You gotta not let it get to you. But first of all, you need to go to bed, because it's very late." And so, my sons go to bed, and I to my own, and we settle down for a peaceful night of rest.  Yeah, right.

As I'm sending David and Johnnie off, there's a ring of the doorbell and I open the door shouting, "Come in." to whoever it is. "I'll be right along. Just sending the boys to bed." I do so, and come downstairs where Derek is stood nervously by the door. "What do you want?" I ask. He looks around nervously for a few seconds, "I came to apologise. What I said, it was cruel. It just came as a bit of a shock. And you know what my mother was like. If they weren't Godly, she hated them."

I have to agree with that. Derek's mother was extremely pro-religion, bordering on obsessive. She didn't even eat sea-food. Not that I'm judging. TOTALLY not judging the prejudiced ass-hat. I barely notice that Derek is closer until his lips are almost on mine. I take a step back. "Look, I really hope we can still you know... create a junior." I'm probably still too tired to think properly, so I tell him to follow me to our Bedroom.

We get the deed over with as quickly as possible, then I usher him out the door. As he is leaving he can't help but make one last comment and I know we'll probably never be friends again. "You know, you do pretty well for someone who dates girls. You could make a living out of it. Heck, you do already." I shut the door in his face and glare at him. I think he know's he'll never be coming back.

2 days later and I'm helping David move into an apartment, or rather, I'm decorating and putting smaller furniture in while Eloise, David and Johnnie fuss over my  pregnancy and how I shouldn't be doing crazy things like moving furniture.
There is a knock at the door nobody seems to hear and so I answer it. "Hi there. I noticed you were moving in, so I brought you some Muffin- Oh, HEY AUNTIE SKYE! It's been ages since I last saw you."
I run through the list of people I know who live in the area and people who bake muffins and those who also call me Auntie Skye, it basically leaves Midnight Parker.  Paisley's daughter who makes the best muffins EVER. Before I know what's going on my best friend's daughter is rubbing my baby belly and rabbiting on about who knows what. David pokes his head round the corner.

"Ma, who's at the door?" he says. It's then that he rounds the corner and see's the girl. His jaw drops to the floor almost and he turns a dark shade of pink. "Midnight Parker." says Midnight brightly. David hurries to introduce himself, quickly followed up by an invite to dinner. "Ellie, Johnnie, it's time we left. David's gonna be fine moving in the rest of his stuff apparently."  They both leave the rooms they were in and follow me outside. "Was that what I think it was?" they both ask and I nod. "David's gonna get a girlfriend."

Later that night Eloise is cooking dinner while I set the table. "Well done there. Getting David and her together I mean." says Eloise. I chuckle, "I don't know why you assume it was me. I had nothing to do with it. David just wanted a house near a bakery. I found him one. I had no idea it was next door to one of the Parker businesses." I stop talking when I feel a harder than normal kick. The next thing I know a contraction is ripping through me, pain flowing in waves over my body. "Eloise, keep calm and finish dinner. I'll be back in a couple of hours."
I slip into our bathroom and true to my word, give birth to Loki Everard not two hours after I leave. He's quite small, and from the looks of things he'll be a good reader, most notably because as soon as I set him down, he's nagging me to read to him, by thrusting what appears to be the dictionary in my face. I read the dictionary to him but before long my eyes droop and I fall asleep in my seat, Loki perched on my lap like a cat.
